The Work:
The film actors workshop was first and foremost designed to help actors open their "instrument", open their imagination, become fearless, and find joy in their work.
The classes are about taking the work of The Group Theatre and bringing it into 2011. In the class we shoot each scene with a digital camera and review footage for feedback and critique of the performance. Philosophy/Method:
I have seen many young actors becoming confused always hearing about what the work "is" but not knowing how or where to begin. I can help the actor make that key connection between themselves and the character. I am able to bring out an actor’s sense of uniqueness and humanity, and become a strong and disciplined actor.
Different actors have different strengths and weaknesses and therefore need differentiated instruction. These classes are utilize a variety of methods and techniques based on the works of Meisner, Stanislavski, Strasberg, Adler, Checkov, and others to help each actor with their specific needs.
Skills:
The art of listening, how to accept true feelings and stay in the moment, how to trust what is being experienced. On-Camera auditioning, confidence building, cold reading skills, monologues, character development, script analysis and more! |
